3. Before surgery>> more

  1. The patient must be sufficiently and completely informed about his/her health condition, therapeutic options and consequences of non-treatment as well as about potential complications after therapy, prediction, assumed costs of the therapy and conditions of partial coverage by his/her health insurer
  2. The patient must bring with him/her internal pre-operation examination results not older than 10 days. The documentation must include an ECG with description, KO, BIOCH, INR, R (APTT), CRP, FW, KS and urine, an x-ray of the breast in the case of patients above 60 and ECHO cardiograph in the case of patients above 70. The documents should also include an unambiguous statement of a doctor of internal medicine about the possibility to perform the surgery under total or spinal anaesthesia.
  3. The patient will bring the documents pursuant to 2 above to his/her scheduled consultation with the anaesthesiologist, including all available medical reports, drugs and the filled out medical questionnaire received at the reception.
  4. The patient will get acquainted with the price list of the services provided by our facility and other services related to hospitalisation, post-operative service and service after release from hospital.
  5. The patient will turn up for the intervention on the basis of prior phone agreement with the hospital staff.
  6. The patient will bring with him/her his/her latest x-ray image and our orthopaedic examination results.
  7. The patient will bring his/her hygienic necessities with him/her.
  8. The patient will take with him/her all regularly taken drugs.
  9. The patient will arrange for his/her transport from our hospital as he/she will not be able to drive.
  10. The patient will take a tablet of ´Ranital 150mg´ and ´Degan´ in the evening before the operation and in the morning of the operation day. He/she will receive these drugs on his/her visit to our surgery
  11. The patient will not eat for 6 hours before the surgery.
  12. The patient may drink max. 2 dl of fresh water without any ingredients no later than 2 hours before the surgery.
  13. In the morning of the operation day the patient will take all regularly used drugs.
  14. The patient will not take Anopyrin, anti-diabetics, anti-depressives and anti-coagulants
  15. The patient will bring his/her crutches or other agreed orthopaedic aids.
  16. The patient will leave his/her valuables and money at home for this document informs him/her that our hospital does not take responsibility for these possessions of its patients.
  17. The patient will bring with him/her the phone number or other contact information of the authorised person who will take care of him/her after release from hospital. The person shall be healthy, mobile, responsible, reliable, physically present in the hospital on the patient release and personally interested in taking care of the patient.
  18. In the case of occurrence of an acute inflammation in the body or infection of the upper respiratory tract within the last 2 weeks before the surgery the patient must inform our operating surgeon.
  19. In the evening before the surgery the patient will shave the surgery site within the range of 30 cm around the site.
  20. . In the case of a large surgery the female patient will consult her gynaecologist about the possibility to shift potential menstruation off the operation period and if unsure about possible pregnancy the patient will take a pregnancy test.
  21. A pregnant patient or a patient with suspected gravidity must not undergo the operation and must inform the operating surgeon right away.
  22. In the case of the patient insurance with an insurance company not contracted by our facility (the patient must get this information on his/her own initiative) the patient shall be liable to consult with his/her insurer the form and amount of the insurer ´s contribution to the costs of the operation and the special medical materials and submit a printed document about coverage of a medical intervention in a non-contracted healthcare facility at least one month before the scheduled surgery date.
  23. Non-contracted insurance companies are not liable to provide even partial coverage of services provided by our hospital and approach these cases individually on the basis of an application filled out by us and delivered to them at least 31 days before the scheduled surgery.
  24. Contracted insurance companies do not provide complete coverage of the costs of services provided by our hospital.
  25. Before the surgery the patient shall pay an advance in the amount of 50% of the total assumed costs of our service package provided to him/her pursuant to our currently effective price list.

4. After surgery>> more

  1. The patient will request sufficient and complete information about his/her health condition, 1. On release from hospital the patient will pay the rest of the price of the services provided to him/her by our facility. The advance for reservation shall be deducted from the total price
  2. If the patient requests longer than the standard 3-day hospitalisation he/she shall inform the operating surgeon and the reception desk at least 7 days before his/her scheduled admission.
  3. After surgery the patient shall comply with the rehabilitation and therapy related instructions received, as the compliance is necessary for problem-free recovery and good result of the operation. In the case of need the patient will continue with hospitalisation in another contracted healthcare facility after release from our hospital
  4. After return home the patient shall continue with observing the instruction given to him/her by his/her attending physician (in the case of large surgeries for up to 4 weeks) concerning application of subcutaneous injections for blood thinning, taking of the prescribed drugs (antibiotics, analgesics and other) and use of healthcare aids (crutches, braces).
  5. Depending on the type of surgery and health state the patient will be released to domestic care within 3 days from the surgery at the latest. Therefore the patient must arrange for home care before admission to hospital or for continuing rehabilitation care in one of our contracted recovery facilities.
  6. The patient hereby acknowledges and accepts that after release from hospital he/she will not be able to drive, operate machines, perform legal acts or any other responsible work or decisions. Therefore the patient will arrange for his/her home care including transport from hospital by a person informed about him/her health state. The carer will receive a phone contact to our facility, the anaesthesiologist and/or the operating surgeon.

New knowledge of medical science indicates that it is possible to “support” the organism to heal more quickly and to shorten recovery after injuries of muscles, tendons and joints in sport. Especially promising results have been achieved by biotherapy of chronic inflammatory conditions not responding to standard therapies.
